Song Offerings

How is life treating you? I have been doing something off late. I have posted the 103 songs of “Gitanjali” written by Rabindranath Tagore in a blog site. Now why did I do this? Just got curious about this Literature some time back, and was looking out for this one in the www, it was pretty difficult to find a complete version of this book (properly compiled) in one place.

Now your google for the Nobel award winning literature ends here.

Gitanjali

Happy Reading!!!

My alma mater, the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), has a Tagore Festival each autumn. R. Tagore visited UIUC early last century and even sent his son Rathindranath to study agriculture here.

You can see info on 2005's Tagore Festival here, and read about its history, here.

Tagore is a real master. He describes the intricate details of situations and things. Thats will bring a sense of perspective as well as reality and time towards whats being explained in the writings.
